Right edge
Volume
Press and slide for system volume, in exactly the same steps as the volume keys — with the real macOS indicator.

One trackpad. Four new controls. Press an edge of your Mac trackpad for volume, brightness and video scrubbing. The middle works exactly as before.
See it work
Press down until the trackpad clicks, then slide. Volume and brightness move in the same steps as your keyboard, and a video jumps when you let go.
The four edges
A gesture only begins when your finger lands inside the strip and you physically click. Resting palms, typing and ordinary scrolling never count.
Right edge
Press and slide for system volume, in exactly the same steps as the volume keys — with the real macOS indicator.
Left edge
Brightness of the built-in display, with the familiar on-screen indicator you already know.
Top corners
Click a corner 1 to 4 times to mute, open an app or website, press a key combination or run a Shortcut.
Bottom edge
Press, slide sideways and let go to jump there. It starts from where the video already is, and works with music apps too.
Try it right here
This is the real zone geometry — a 10% strip, the same default MacEdge ships with. Press inside an edge and slide, or click a top corner.
Press inside an edge strip and drag.
The same values MacEdge drives on your Mac — only here they are simulated.
Corners
Give each top corner of the trackpad a job. Click to open the app you live in, a website you check all day, a key combination, or anything from the Shortcuts app. A corner without an action stays a normal part of the trackpad.
Claude, your code editor or your notes, one click away. Click again and it hides.
A website in the browser you pick, a folder, a file or an app link.
Take a screenshot, show Mission Control, lock the screen. Any shortcut you already use.
Anything the Shortcuts app can do, from a Focus mode to a script, quietly in the background.
Tuned slide by slide
MacEdge was tuned until it stopped feeling like an add-on.
Setup
A short welcome guide grants the one permission MacEdge needs, then lets you try each gesture on your own trackpad before you close it.
Checkout takes a card or UPI. Your license key lands in your inbox a minute later, and the install page opens straight away.
Your private install page opens right after payment, with a one-line install command made for you. It puts MacEdge in Applications and opens it.
MacEdge needs it to press the volume and brightness keys for you, and to keep stray clicks near the edge out of your apps. It never records what you type.
Paste your key once. It works on this Mac forever, and gestures stay locked until a key is entered.

Questions
Macs with Apple silicon on macOS 14 Sonoma or later: a MacBook with its built-in Force Touch trackpad, or any Mac with a Magic Trackpad.
Yes. The edges and corners work the same on a Magic Trackpad, whether it sits next to a MacBook or on the desk of a Mac mini, iMac or Mac Studio. Gestures are measured in millimetres, so a slide feels the same on the bigger surface, and with two trackpads connected, the one you touch is the one in charge.
Brightness needs the Mac's built-in screen, so on a Mac mini, a Mac Studio or a closed MacBook the brightness edge stays off. Volume, media and corners work everywhere.
No. Moving the pointer only previews an edge. A control gesture requires a physical click and drag starting inside the thin edge strip (10% of the width by default). Leaving that strip cancels it immediately. MacEdge ignores palms and multi-finger gestures.
Yes. In Settings → Gestures → Corners, give the top-left or top-right corner an action: open an app (click again to hide it), a web page in the browser you pick, a file or folder, press a keyboard shortcut, or run a shortcut from the Shortcuts app.
The top-left corner mutes until you change it, the welcome guide asks what the top-right one should do, and a corner without an action stays a normal part of the trackpad. The bottom corners are left to the media strip.
To press the volume and brightness keys and your corner shortcuts for you, and to keep stray clicks near the edge out of your apps. MacEdge doesn't record what you type, and nothing leaves your Mac.
Install and open MacEdge, then paste the license key from your purchase email. The welcome guide asks for it, and you can also find Enter License Key in the menu bar.
The app itself copies fine, but it won't run the gestures. A license key activates against the specific Mac it was entered on, and MacEdge checks that binding when it launches. On a second machine it falls back to a locked state and asks for a key of its own.
If you're replacing a Mac rather than adding one, deactivate the old machine in Settings → About and the seat frees up immediately.
Use the recover your key page and enter your license key or the payment ID from your receipt. Your key is also in your purchase email. To move to a new Mac, deactivate the old one in MacEdge (Settings → About).
Yes. It needs the internet once to activate. After that it checks the license when it can, and being offline never locks it.
Yes — reply to your purchase email within 14 days and you'll get the $3 back, no questions asked.
Three dollars, once. Then the edges of your trackpad stop being empty space.
